The Auld Wives Lifts

The Auld Wives Lifts are a short walk from our pods high on Craigmaddie Muir. They consist of Three large stones, one balanced on top of the other two. There are many stories about how they came to be there. One of the stories is that three witches from Baldernock , Strathblane and Campsie carried the stones to prove their strength but the Baldernock witch tossed her stone on top of the other two.
