The Auld Wives Lifts are a short walk from our pods high on Craigmaddie Muir. They consist of Three large stones, one balanced on top of the other two. There are many stories about how they came to be there. One of the stories is that three witches from Baldernock , Strathblane and Campsie carried the stones to prove their strength but the Baldernock witch tossed her stone on top of the other two.
Mugdock Country Park in a country park and historical site, it is home to Mugdock castles and lots of great scenic trails for everyone to enjoy.

The Kelpies are 30 meter high horse-head sculptures. They were designed by sculptor Andy Scott. They are called duke and baron who were named after real life horses who worked the canals.
The Falkirk wheel is a rotating boat lift in central Scotland connecting the forth and Clyde canal with the union canal. The wheel is 35 metres tall, the equivalent of 8 double decker buses stacked on top of each other. The wheel only uses 1.5kwh of energy to turn, the same amount as it would take to boil 8 household kettles.
There are over 300 animals at Blair Drummond, and you can visit them all on foot. They have raised viewing platforms where you can have exciting views of giraffes , lions and tigers. Then you can visit the farm animals in pets corner.
